Similar appearance does not mean identical performance in every application. Define the space and its use first, then assess material, finish and technical information with the project team.
Start with the application
Reception walls, busy floors and bathrooms require different assessments. Record water exposure, cleaning routines and the designer’s requirements. Request information for the particular product and finish rather than relying on the stone name alone.
Look beyond a small sample
Request images of a larger surface and the proposed batch. Discuss acceptable colour and veining differences and how pieces will be arranged. Natural stone does not reproduce a catalogue photograph with absolute uniformity.
Plan supply and maintenance
Before ordering, clarify quantities, dimensions, delivery phases and care instructions for the selected material. The hotel cleaning team should understand routine maintenance requirements. For a quotation, describe the applications and project location.
