What affects the cost of a marble project?

How to read a quotation and compare the same supply requirements.

A price per square metre does not always describe the entire supply. A useful comparison requires clarity about the material, dimensions and work included in each quotation.

Material, selection and quantity

Trade name, desired appearance, piece selection and total quantity define different enquiries. Use the same material code or a clear description and state whether quantities are net areas or include cutting and selection allowances. No single waste allowance fits every project.

Dimensions and processing details

List thickness, finish, edges, openings and special dimensions separately. Surface area alone may not reflect the work required for stairs or detailed pieces. Ask for a clear description of exactly what is being priced.

Compare the full quotation

Check whether packaging, transport, taxes and additional work are included. Clarify the place and method of receipt, timing and payment terms. Installation should not be assumed in a stone supply quotation.
